About Yesika Figueroa

With the goal of providing affordable, professional, and honest legal assistance, attorney Yesika M. Figueroa opened her office in the heart of Riverside, in the Inland Empire, in 2008. At that time, Attorney Figueroa only had a desk, a computer, and a briefcase full of goals and dreams, which she has gradually achieved without abandoning her professional and personal philosophy. Determined to change lives through her service, the attorney currently offers representation in immigration, family law, and criminal defense matters.

Born in Mexico City, Mexico, attorney Figueroa arrived in the United States with her parents at the age of two as an undocumented immigrant. Over time, she and her parents obtained residency—a joyful moment forever etched in her memory. The then-girl decided to become a lawyer—a vocation that gives her the opportunity to spare other families from suffering while bringing joy.

During her studies at the University of California Riverside, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Law, and Society, Attorney Figueroa volunteered with the Inland Empire Latino Lawyers, a nonprofit organization that provides legal assistance to low-income families in the region. Attorney Figueroa earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of La Verne College of Law.

Attorney Figueroa encourages all young people, especially undocumented women and students, to pursue their dreams and fight tirelessly until they achieve them. Her image is proof that sacrifice pays off. It’s no coincidence that her favorite quote comes from the renowned novelist and journalist, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Gabriel García Márquez: “It’s not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they get old; they get old because they stop pursuing their dreams.”

Today, as a member of the State Bar of California, the Riverside County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Attorney Figueroa remains committed to her community, offering free consultations one Saturday a month.
