Tom Pappas attended Southern Methodist University (B.S. cum laude 1981; B.A. 1981; J.D. 1984). He joined the Firm in 1984. From 1995 to 1997 he participated in the SMU Criminal Justice Clinic as Staff Attorney. He is licensed to practice law in Texas; the United States District Courts–Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas; and Eastern District of Arkansas; and the United States Court of Appeals–Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. He has written and lectured numerous times at criminal law seminars and has had articles published in Voice for the Defense magazine. He has instructed at the North Central Texas Counsel of Governments Police Academy on the Use of Force and Deadly Force since 1994. He was President of the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 1993.
