About Thomas Cuffie

Thomas F. Cuffie, a native of Sylvester, Georgia, finished Worth County High School in 1967 and began Morehouse College shortly thereafter. While attending Morehouse, he joined the Uniform Division of the City of Atlanta Police Department and subsequently was promoted to Detective. Mr. Cuffie graduated from Morehouse College in 1972 earning a BA Degree in Political Science. Upon finishing North Carolina Central Law School in 1978, he was immediately appointed Associate City Attorney (corporate lawyer) for the City of Atlanta.

Mr. Cuffie became an elected Atlanta city councilman in 1981 and remained for three consecutive four-year terms. The same year he became a councilman, Thomas Cuffie founded his own law firm, limiting his practice to personal injury cases. Today he has transformed his practice into a litigation boutique concentrating on Wrongful Death and Catastrophic Injury cases. Over the years, Cuffie & Associates has enjoyed success in obtaining several million dollars in verdicts and settlements for clients throughout the State of Georgia.

Since 1995, Thomas Cuffie has served as the Corporate Counsel for the Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association and provides legal advice on a variety of legal issues ranging from amending the Constitution and Bylaws to interpreting various state laws that impact the industry. He is married to Kaneta Lott Cuffie a Pediatric Dentist in Atlanta, Georgia and they have two grown children, Kimberly and Thomas.
