About Tamara Huckert

Tamara has spent nearly her entire legal career handling employment law matters. Her practice focuses on employment counseling, negotiation, and litigation, including handling claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and North Carolina’s Retaliatory Employment Discrimination Act. Tamara also regularly handles wage and hour claims and issues, whistleblower cases, and general litigation matters.

Tamara was recognized in the 24th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America in Litigation – Labor and Employment. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by the North Carolina Super Lawyer since 2017, “Legal Elite” in the Category of Employment Law by North Carolina Business Magazine since 2015, “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers from 2014-2016. She also holds a Martindale Hubbell “AV Preeminent” rating and is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Tamara is active in the Charlotte legal community. She is a past President of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte, after actively participating on the Board as the Treasurer (2016), Membership Committee Chair (2015), Programs Committee Co-Chair (2013-2014), and serving on the Nominating and Public Service Committees. Tamara is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, where she is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Mecklenburg County Bar, where she is a member of the Small Firm and Labor and Employment Law sections.
