About Stephen Houze

Stephen Houze has, for over 40 years, maintained an exclusively criminal defense practice in Oregon’s state and federal courts. His practice covers a wide spectrum of serious criminal matters, ranging from death penalty defense, a major federal terrorism case, white collar fraud and environmental cases, drug cases, sexual assault cases, and professional discipline matters.

Stephen Houze is a graduate of Brown University and Vanderbilt Law School. After spending more than three years as a trial attorney in Portland’s Metropolitan Public Defender office, he opened his private practice in 1976. Throughout his career, Stephen Houze has represented thousands of individuals, among which have been some of the most noted cases in Oregon legal circles.
