About Rijon Charne
I am a licensed attorney practicing fertility law in seven states: California, Washington, Texas, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and North Carolina.
Born in South Africa, I immigrated to Dallas, Texas. With a strong background in both American and international law, I provide legal guidance to individuals and couples navigating the complexities of family-building through assisted reproductive technology (ART).
I hold dual degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and earned my Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego Law School. My legal career has been shaped by my passion for advocacy, including mentoring children in court through the “Kids in Court” program and competing nationally as part of the Child Welfare & Adoption Law National Moot Court team.
My journey into fertility law became personal when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma shortly after law school. Before undergoing chemotherapy, I pursued fertility preservation, which introduced me to the legal intricacies of ART. Today, I specialize in all aspects of fertility law, including surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo donation, ensuring my clients have the legal protections they need in their family-building journeys.
Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy playing the piano, exploring new restaurants, spending time at the beach with my cockapoo, Kuna, and supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
