About Richard Mcelroy

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he has been very successful in his representation of businesses both large and small in various litigation matters.  He has represented a wide diversity of business entities and individuals such as steel and aluminum manufacturers, a major concert promoter, two major professional sports leagues, food manufacturers, accountants, investment firms and individual corporate officers and directors.  He has appeared in state and federal courts throughout the country and successfully argued an antitrust case in the Supreme Court of the United States.

More recently, he successfully represented a Fortune 500 company in a $600 million fraudulent conveyance case challenging the client’s spin-off of its subsidiary.  The suit, brought by the spin-off company’s unsecured creditors, was tried in federal court in Delaware which found in the client’s favor as to all claims brought against it.

In 2006, he tried a breach of contract action for a small Philadelphia company against Sprint Corporation in federal court in Kansas, securing for the client a $19 million verdict in its favor.

He is a former partner at Blank Rome in Philadelphia.
