About Richard Mcalpin
Richard McAlpin combines his unique qualifications with over thirty years of trial experience. Richard’s rare, real-world experience in the industry – everything from marine salvage to commercial towing to professional yacht operations – has proven valuable in defending a wide range of maritime disputes at both the state and federal level.
Richard holds the highest attainable rating, “AV”, from Martindale-Hubbell. His considerable trial experience includes Jones Act, wrongful death, complex multi-party litigation as well as scores of successful appeals in both state and federal courts. Richard has authored numerous works including the Practice & Procedure chapter of the Maritime Law & Practice manual published by The Florida Bar. He has been named a Florida Super Lawyer every year since 2007 and has appeared as a guest speaker at many educational seminars sponsored by marine industry groups like the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).
