About Randall Kleinman

Mr. Kleinman was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1952. He is a native Spanish speaker. He obtained his high school degree in 1969 from Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, Texas. He then attended Tulane University, earning a B. A. degree in 1973. He also attended law school at Tulane, receiving a J. D. in 1976. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1976, and to the California State Bar in 1978 (his California license is inactive). He was fortunate to have been mentored early on in his career by a brilliant older lawyer, a circumstance for which he is forever grateful.

He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, practices in all of the Louisiana State and Federal trial courts, and has taken and defended appeals in all Louisiana Courts of Appeal, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, where he has filed several petitions for writs of certiorari.

Mr. Kleinman has been involved in insurance defense throughout his career, a fact which has exposed him to an exceptionally varied scope of litigation, from maritime and admiralty cases to products liability matters and cases involving professional liability. He presently focuses on construction matters as well as the defense of public entities in all manner of civil rights cases. He successfully defended a Katrina-related class action against an insurer, resulting in its dismissal. He also offers advice and litigation services to contractors and subcontractors facing insurance coverage issues. He has tried dozens of first-chair jury and bench trials. Because of his experience, Mr. Kleinman has compiled a record of reported decisions that is singular in scope.
