About Rafael Alonso
Rafael Alonso is an insurance claims attorney, born and raised in Miami-Dade County. After graduating high school and returning from the military, he worked for Miami-Dade County as a Code Enforcement Officer dealing in both the zoning and building code for seven years. He then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Barry University while working full-time.
He earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida International University. While in law school he was a member of the Cuban-American Law Society where he served as President of that organization, a member of the FIU Trial Advocacy Team where he competed against other Florida schools, and served on the student board each year as a class representative and as President his final year. Rafael also interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
After completing law school, he had the privilege of serving the community as a Miami-Dade Assistant State Attorney, where he practiced criminal law. Through his years at the State Attorney’s Office Rafael has become an experienced trial attorney. He continues to serve the community through his practice mostly as an insurance claims attorney in the area of residential and commercial insurance claims. Rafael Alonso has focused his practice on first-party residential and commercial insurance claims including construction defects, hurricane damage claims, and foreclosure defense.
Rafael is a member of the Florida Bar and eligible to practice law in the State of Florida, as well as a member of the Federal Bar eligible to practice in the Southern District of Florida. Rafael has also been before of the 3rd District Court of Appeal and has been Nominated as a Rising Star Superlawyer from 2013 to 2018.
