About Natalie Scott

Natalie Scott has represented debtors and creditors, both in and out of bankruptcy court, and is the firm’s bankruptcy litigation and appellate specialist. She has handled numerous state and federal bankruptcy court appeals. After graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law, she clerked for then Judge David Brewer on the Oregon Court of Appeals. She worked for a local chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee, taught legal research and writing as an adjunct professor for the University of Oregon School of Law, and worked as an attorney with a Eugene-based boutique law firm specializing in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and commercial law matters.

Natalie is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by SuperLawyers since 2012 and by BestLawyers since 2018. She is widely regarded for her thoughtful written work, including legal briefs and articles on cutting edge legal issues. She is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from bankruptcy appeals to setting up a law practice. Natalie served as a director and then Secretary for the Lane County Bar Association and a 2-year term on the Executive Board of the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section.

During law school, Natalie and husband-fellow attorney, Loren Scott, participated in the Duberstein National Bankruptcy Appellate Competition, traveling to New York to compete against teams nationwide. One of the highlights of her law school days, Natalie now volunteers her time and expertise to help the University of Oregon Law School’s appellate bankruptcy team, focusing on effective oral advocacy. She served on the parent board of her children’s preschool and continues to volunteer at local Eugene-area schools as often as her schedule permits. You might also find Natalie and Loren coaching their kids’ soccer or basketball teams. When not working in the home or at the office, Natalie loves hiking, tennis, reading, and writing poetry and fiction.
