About Mitch Geller

Mitch Geller spent roughly a decade as a journalist before going to law school, running two newspapers and freelancing to magazines locally and nationally. He received a B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado in 1973. In 1979, Mr. Geller received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and was licensed to practice law in October of 1979.

During law school, Mr. Geller served as an investigator for the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office and later served as a law clerk for Denver District Court Judge Alvin D. Lichtenstein. Immediately subsequent to law school, he practiced as a trial attorney for the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office for a period of two years and has since been steadily engaged in domestic, criminal, and civil practice.

Criminal Defense Practice
Most of my criminal defense clients are surprised to learn that being a Colorado lawyer is a second career for me. I became an attorney after a great career in journalism to dig deeper into being a part of the change that I wanted to see happen. Decades ago, I began my legal career in the trenches as a Colorado State Public Defender. That experience left me with hundreds of criminal defense trials under my belt and the firm confirmation that justice is not blind, fair, or impartial. Good people are put through terrible experiences in our judicial system every single day. For my clients, the charges do not have to be steep to mean a lot to them, their families, and the futures. For this reason, all cases I take on receive the same high level of attentive and proactive representation from start to finish.
