About Melinda Gorman
Melinda graduated with distinction from Washington University Law School in 2007. During her time in Law School, she was the Captain of the law school’s nationally ranked Trial Team. She also interned for both the St. Louis City Public Defender’s Office and St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office. Melinda received the university-wide award for Outstanding Clinical Work for her work in the County Public Defender’s Office.
After graduation, Melinda immediately entered private practice where she has handled hundreds of criminal cases at the Federal, State and Municipal levels. She also has experience in the Juvenile Courts system.
Melinda is a devoted advocate both inside and outside the courtroom. Known for her attention to detail and exhaustive research skills, Melinda has successfully argued to judges and juries in courtrooms all over the state of Missouri. She has successfully represented clients facing charges for violent offenses, sexual offenses, theft and property related offenses, along with DWIs and drug offenses.
In addition to her criminal defense practice, Melinda also has extensive experience in the field of Family Law. Melinda has helped clients seeking orders of protection, or defending themselves against baseless ones. She has litigated dissolutions with and without children, paternity actions, and motions to modify existing Family Court judgments and decrees.
