About Meighan Burton
Ms. Burton’s practice consists primarily of civil litigation in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, insurance defense, construction, and commercial disputes. She has successfully navigated her clients through all of the stages of a lawsuit—discovery, pre-trial motions practice, mediation, trial and appeal—in the Maryland and District of Columbia state and federal court systems. She is also well versed in business transactions, personal injury and even residential real estate matters.
In addition to her growing legal practice, Ms. Burton is an active member of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association, Maryland Chapter. She is a former Chair of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Bar Association of Baltimore City and she is a Fellow of the Baltimore Bar Foundation and Maryland Bar Foundation.
She also sits on the Board of Directors of Sail Baltimore, a non-profit organization that brings tall ships into the Baltimore harbor. When she’s not working for her clients and the community, she spends her time with husband Dave, sales operations manager at Under Amour, daughter Avery and son Chace.
