About Marvin Ausubel

Marvin V. Ausubel is of counsel to the Firm, resident in Fried Frank’s New York office. He was a litigation partner at the firm from 1984 until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Ausubel practiced in the areas of product liability, general liability (including automobiles, hotels, premises and other casualties), professional liability, and direct, excess and reinsurance problems. He has represented many well-known corporations, including Ford Motor Company, Chrysler Corporation, AT&T Technologies, Schwinn Bicycle Company, Hilton Hotels Corporation, MGM Grand Hotels, and Lloyd’s of London.

He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Committee on State Legislation, 1968-1970; State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction, 1971-1974; Federal Courts, 1974-1977; Judiciary, 1982-1993; Professional and Judicial Ethics, 1986-1988; Professional Discipline, 1988-1991); New York County Lawyers Association (Committee on Aeronautical Law, 1971-1978); Nassau County, New York State and American Bar Associations; American Law Institute; and the Federal Bar Council. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

He was a contributor to “The New Federal Civil Discovery Rules Sourcebook,” published by Practising Law Institute (1972), and “Practice Under the New Federal Rules of Evidence,” published by American Law Institute and American Bar Association (1975). Mr. Ausubel acted as Associate Editor of 17 and 17a West’sMcKinney’s Forms, Estates and Surrogate Practice (1984).

Prior to joining Fried Frank, Mr. Ausubel was a partner at Trubin, Sillcocks, Edelman & Knapp. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and the US District Courts for the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Districts of New York.
