About Mark Lowe

Mr. Lowe is a maritime transactional attorney with some fiftty years experience in the shipping industry. He joined Hill, Betts & Nash LLP after having been with OMI Corporation for two years and Maritime Overseas Corporation/OSG Ship Management, Inc. for thirty one years. He was general counsel of OSG Ship Management, Inc. from 1997 to 2001. He has extensive experience in maritime transactions, mainly construction contracts, (over 400 transactions with shipyards in Japan, Korea, United States, Germany, Sweden, Italy, China and Vietnam), financings, acquisitions, sale and purchase of vessels (over 400 transactions), shipping pools (for VLLCs, Suezmax tankers, Aframax tankers, product/chemical carriers and capesize bulkcarriers), complex time, and bareboat charters and registration of vessels under the flags of the Marshall Islands, Liberia, Panama, United States, Hong Kong, Bermuda, Greece, The Netherlands, Israel and the United Kingdom. In recent years he has, among other transactions, advised clients in connection with the purchase and sale of foreign flag bulk tankers and carriers, the construction contracts for several Jones Act product tankers and barges, and the acquisition of a fleet of foreign flag product tankers.
