About Mai Neng Moua

Mai Neng Moua was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 2007 and to the United States District Court, District of Minnesota in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Political Science, and East Asian Studies from the University of St. Thomas in May 2004. She received her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in May 2007.

As an attorney with Davis & Goldfarb from October 2007 to October 2012, Krueger Law Firm from October 2012 to December 2013, and Mai N. Moua Law Office from January 2014 to March 2023, Mai Neng worked with a wide range of clients, including large and small corporate companies, educational institutions, and private individuals. Her areas of focus include naturalization, family and employment-based petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, asylum application/interview, removal defense, and federal court litigation including challenging immigration decisions and writ of mandamus. She has additional experience in PERM (the Department of Labor’s permanent labor certification program) applications; immigrant petitions for alien workers in various preference categories; adjustment of status applications; and non-immigrant work visas such as E-2, H-1B, H-2A, and H-2B, L-1, P-3, O-1, R-1, and TN.

Since March 2023, she merged her law firm with Swanson Law Office. The merged firm continues to focus on providing excellent full-scale immigration services in serving clients all over the US and the world, including assisting with family and employment-based immigration petitions, asylum applications, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, removal defense, and federal court litigation.

She is a Past Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) – Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter, Past AILA-MN/Dakotas Ambassador to the American Immigration Council (AIC), and Past Vice President of the Hmong American Bar Association; member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA); Board of Director member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Minnesota; Board Chair of MN8; and volunteer with Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN). She has spoken at local, national, and international immigration law conferences, as well as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes on various topics in immigration law. She was also recognized by Minnesota Lawyer in 2017 and 2021 as one of its Attorneys of the Year.
