About Madeline Collison

Madeline A. Collison has over twenty-five years of experience representing Colorado employees who have been subjected to unfair treatment in the workplace. She has dedicated her legal career to advocating for workers who have been mistreated by their employers and has focused much of her career on sexual harassment cases. Madeline is a tireless advocate who is willing to take a case all the way to trial if need be. However, she is also adept at representing her clients to reach an amicable resolution without litigation. She offers full-service representation to her clients which includes: counseling on the proper avenues to voice concerns; providing advice both pre-employment and post-employment; negotiating employment contracts and severance agreements; representing clients in the administrative process; and litigating claims. Madeline also has expertise in representing federal employees and has represented federal employees at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merits System Protection Board.

Madeline has been a leader in the development of employment law in Colorado. She has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Colorado Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association (“PELA”). PELA is an organization of Colorado lawyers who are dedicated to representing employees who have been subjected to unfair employment practices. PELA works to advance the rights of employees in Colorado through the court system and in the Colorado legislature. PELA also educates Colorado employment lawyers on how to be the best advocates for their clients. Over the years, Madeline has worked with and trained many of the best employment lawyers in Colorado. She has received the highest AV rating from Martindale for legal ethics, professionalism, and legal skills since 1998.

She graduated from Wellesley College and obtained her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She has been active in the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and served as President of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. She also served as Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. In addition to being PELA Board Chair, Madeline served as President of PELA and has been on the Board of Directors for over fifteen years. Madeline has been a frequent lecturer on employment law topics and has written many articles on various aspects of employment law. Madeline schedules her own initial consultations. As part of her longstanding commitment to helping lower paid workers, she offers a free initial consultation for certain types of claims being pursued by lower paid employees.
