About Lesley Ellefson-Porras

Lesley Ellefson-Porras represents clients with a variety of immigration issues; including family reunification, removal defense, non-immigrant visas, special immigrant juvenile status, and asylum. She zealously advocates for clients and their families to help them navigate through a confusing immigration system.

She worked as an immigration attorney with the Hispanic Committee of Virginia, where she represented clients with family-based immigration petitions including through marriage. Lesley successfully helped families reunite or remain together in the United States. She has assisted countless immigrants to complete their journey to become United States citizens.

She is committed to providing assistance to the immigrant community. Lesley has volunteered with a variety of nonprofit organizations and worked with detained immigrants. Lesley has represented victims of domestic violence and victims of serious crimes with VAWA and U Visa applications. Additionally, she has worked as a pro bono attorney with Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), representing clients before the Immigration Court in asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases.

She speaks Spanish and has lived abroad in Spanish-speaking countries. Lesley and her husband, originally from Venezuela, have two young daughters who are growing up in a bilingual household.
