About Kim Sherman
Education, Environmental, & Estate Law Group was formed in 2017 to provide legal counsel on educational, environmental, and estate planning concerns. In 2023, we changed our name to Education, Environmental, & Estate Law, LLC (“E3 Law”).
Kim specializes in special education and disability rights for students as well as in developing estate plans, special needs trusts, and guardianships and conservatorships. Kim also works with landowners to protect their wild or natural property with conservation easements or in legal action when a property owner’s trees are illegally cut or damaged.
Kim has been involved in local environmental issues since the early 2000’s when she held a Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program (WHIP) grant and restored 20 acres of oak forest in Polk County. Kim has degrees in Speech & Communication (BA, Cal State Northridge) and Education (Masters, University of Hawai’i), a PhD in Special Education from University of Oregon, and a JD from Willamette University, where she was awarded a Sustainable Environmental, Energy, and Resources Certificate.
Prior to being admitted to the bar, Kim served as an elementary and middle school special education teacher, faculty at both Western Oregon University and the University of Oregon, education specialist at the Oregon Department of Education, and project lead in the statewide assessment for students with significant disabilities in Alaska. Additionally, Kim served as the Director of Student Services (Special Education) for Central School District 13J and as the assistant director for the University of Oregon’s school administrator licensure program.
Kim is licensed to practice law in Oregon and Washington.
