About Kevin Morrison

He’s been there.  College at a midsized Catholic urban university.  Kevin has experience dealing with criminal law, youthful indiscretions, human rights and students’ First Amendment rights.

While in college at Georgetown, Kevin was involved in politics, and student protests in Washington, DC.  During law school Kevin worked for the Public Defender’s Office in Anoka County, testified before the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples regarding the desecration of Hmong graves in Thailand, and was the student director of the Misdemeanor Defense Clinic at the University of Minnesota Law School.  Kevin has worked for Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan of the U.S. District Court (Minnesota), and founded a volunteering group that sends law students to New Orleans to assist non-profits with post-Katrina rebuilding efforts.

According to Kevin, “The only way to solve problems is through action.”  Whether by building homes in Appalachia or providing representation for indigent clients in court, Kevin knows that, “Determination, drive, and integrity are the keys to success.”  Kevin co-founded WaMo in order to, “Help students who have the misfortune of finding themselves on the wrong side of the law.”

Kevin has a demonstrated passion for criminal defense, having worked on everything from misdemeanors to appellate court briefs; including a recent appeal which reached the Minnesota Supreme Court.In addition to practicing law, Kevin is passionate about college basketball, the Minnesota Twins, cooking/grilling, film, and Japanese culture.  Kevin is a member of the St. Paul Curling Club and the Frogtown Curling Club.
