About Kenneth Suria

Kenneth has been a Member of Estrella, LLC for over ten years, and has been with the firm since the year 2000. He heads its Federal Litigation Department, where he has been involved in the litigation and trial of complex cases in the areas of admiralty, asbestos, collections, copyright, distributors and dealers’ relationships, energy, medical and professional malpractice, premises liability, products liability, personal injury, and other areas of federal and state litigation. He has tried over 75 cases to jury verdict in state and federal court in New York and Puerto Rico. He has also tried over 50 bench trials to verdict in the Puerto Rico local courts.

Before returning to Puerto Rico, Kenneth spent over 18 years practicing in the states of New York and New Jersey. He represented clients in cases that involved general liability and automobile insurance claims from their inception through trial. These matters encompassed a vast array of civil litigation areas including federal litigation. One of the firms that Ken worked with was Bower & Gardner, where he represented the firm’s corporate self-insured clients in general liability cases through jury trial and verdict. Thereafter, Mr. Suria went into the private practice of the law for a period of two years before returning to Puerto Rico.

Estrella has been recognized as one of the premier law firms in Puerto Rico. Part of that success is owed to the hard work of its attorneys. Ken, in particular, has been recognized for his abilities in Dispute Resolution in Chambers & Partners. He has been listed as on the Best Lawyers of Puerto Rico since 2018, and has also been listed in The Legal 500, Latin American Edition.

In addition, Ken has been part of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) since 2014. As part of NITA, he was NITA’s Program Director for the program II School for Latin American Prosecutors held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 2024. He was the Program Director who brought to Puerto Rico the first Trial Skills Program in 2014. He has been a faculty member in other programs such as the Advanced Trial Skills Program in Washington, DC; Depositions Virtual Public Program; Trial Skills Virtual Program and others.

Additionally, he has been a guest speaker at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico Law School at the Trial Advocacy LLM Program and also at the J.D.’s Depositions’ course; and taught Constitutional Law at the University of Sacred Heart in San Juan. He has also been a panelist on conferences sponsored by the Association of Corporate Counsels on topics such as third party litigation financing and insurance defense among others.
