About Joseph Mccarthy

Born in Buffalo, New York, September 20, 1943; admitted to Bar, 1970, New York.

Mr. McCarthy is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was President of the Bar Association of Erie County from 1993 to 1994; President of the Erie County Bar Foundation from 1999 to 2000. He served on the New York State Institute on Professionalism from 1999 until 2010. Mr. McCarthy received the WNY Defense Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 1998.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Bar Foundation. He has served as the Director on the New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. He has served on numerous committees for New York State Bar and Erie County Bar Associations. He is currently counsel to the Medical Society of Erie County and has been honored with their Professional Services Award. He is currently a Member of the Erie County Bar Association; the New York State Bar Association; the Western New York Trial Lawyers and Western New York Defense Trial Lawyers. He is on the Mediation Panel for the United States District Court in the Western District of New York.
