Before opening his own boutique law practice, Attorney Strauss learned business from the inside out as Vice President and General Counsel at Century America LLC, a Chicago-based private equity company owned by three generations of the Hokin family that operated businesses in steel, hospitality, trucking, aviation, and energy industries and invested in real estate and real estate developments. Previously he was an Assistant Attorney General representing the State of Illinois in criminal and civil rights matters.

Jonathan Strauss is committed to serving the Chicago community. He provides pro bono services to some of Chicago’s newest charitable institutions through volunteer work with the Community Economic Development Law Project. Long after his kids have moved on, he continues to coach youth baseball at Welles Park.

Jonathan Strauss is married with two children who are successful products of the Chicago Public Schools. His wife, Leslie, is a CPS high school biology teacher.
