About Jeffrey Young

Jeff is a trial attorney with a proven record of success in all phases of civil litigation. He has tried cases in both Oregon and Washington, and has obtained numerous favorable verdicts and decisions for his clients as first-chair and second-chair trial counsel. Coming from a family full of physicians, Jeff has devoted a substantial part of his practice to the areas of medical malpractice and healthcare licensing defense. Additionally, Jeff represents clients in other types of complex legal matters and litigation involving business and commercial disputes, contract drafting and negotiation, and construction law.

Jeff is a native Oregonian and a proud “double Duck,” with both juris doctorate and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Oregon. Jeff is a member of numerous professional organizations, and has authored or contributed to several publications including the “The Verdict,” a publication of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, and Oregon Statutory Time Limitations, a joint publication of the Professional Liability Fund and the Oregon State Bar.

Jeff is active in leadership in the Oregon State Bar. He was a member of the House of Delegates (2016-2019), which aids in the governance of the Oregon State Bar. He joined the Uniform Civil Jury Instructions Committee in 2017, which develops jury instructions for use in civil trials, serving as the Secretary in 2018 and as the Chair in 2019. Jeff was recently appointed to a four-year term on the Council on Court Procedures, which is the Oregon public body that is most directly involved in creating, reviewing, and amended the rules of practice and procedure for all Oregon circuit courts.

Jeff is listed in the 26^th Edition (2020) of Best Lawyers in America for his work in Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants. Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.

When he is not practicing law, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. Jeff is an Oregon Duck fan, and volunteers his time as a youth soccer coach.
