Jeff founded the Pote Law Firm to assist creative and social entrepreneurs, startups and other businesses with their formation, governance documents, trademarks & copyrights, as well as privacy, data security & other policies or agreements.

PLF is organized as a mission-locked, public benefit business which emphasizes serving like-minded businesses that look after all of their stakeholders and operate as a force for good.

We are only as strong as our communities, which is why, in assisting our clients, PLF works towards building long-term relationships and developing prosperous businesses.

As an entrepreneur and business owner, Jeff understands the challenges that individuals and businesses face. For this reason, PLF is committed to working with entrepreneurs at various points in their careers and businesses of various sizes to find solutions that fit within their budgets.

All individuals deserve access to legal services and, for this reason, the PLF accepts flat fees and alternative fee arrangements and will try to find payment solutions that help even young businesses reach their potential.

In this way, PLF seeks to fulfill its mission of providing greater economic opportunities and access to legal services for traditionally underserved communities so that others too can know the joy of forming and operating successful businesses.

Before starting his own firm, Jeff worked for a nonprofit, public interest law firm, the Equal Justice Center, where he gained considerable experience and familiarity with legal issues and the day-to-day operations of a small firm.

Jeff’s educational background includes significant experience with economics and philosophy, as well as teaching and information technology work. This multi-disciplinary background informs not only the management of his own practice but also the legal services provided to other small businesses.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys baseball, college basketball, and hiking as well as travel and road trips – especially with his wife, Michelle, who is also an attorney. Recently, he rescued a gray tabby kitten – who has since become a new and unexpected source of boundless joy.
