About Jay Dushkin

Jay H. Dushkin received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1984. He is admitted to practice law in all Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Although exclusively practicing law, Jay is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Jay has been licensed to practice law in Texas for more than 24 years. He is rated “AV” by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory which is the publication’s highest rating.

Jay began the practice of law in September 1984 with the law firm of Saccomanno & Clegg, L.L.P., becoming a partner in 1990. On May 1, 1999, Jay opened his own firm, The Law Offices of Jay H. Dushkin.

Born April 6, 1959, Jay Dushkin is a native Houstonian. Jay’s parents also came from the area. His father, Aaron W. Dushkin, attended San Jacinto High School and his mother, Dianna Rothenburg Dushkin attended high school in Conroe.

Jay’s parents instilled a strong work ethic in their children. By age 13, Jay was sorting, bagging and delivering clothes at his aunt’s drycleaning business. By the age of 16 he had become the Assistant Manager of the Men and Boys Department at the old Sage Department Store. Jay also took jobs that fed his love of sports. He was a Press Runner for the Houston Aeros Hockey Team from 1975–1977, a bat boy for the Houston Astros, and an operator of the old electronic scoreboard, then the largest in the world, at the Astrodome. Jay has fond memories of pressing the button that would set off the magnificent scoreboard display for home runs and touchdowns.
