About Heritage Filer

Heritage M. Filer represents clients in all aspects of family law, from divorces and child custody disputes to domestic violence allegations. She works at finding creative solutions to complex family law issues.

Before joining CASSADY ∙ FILER, L.L.P (formerly Dancey & Cassady, L.L.P.), Heritage dedicated her time representing clients specifically in family law cases for Benjamin Law Group, P.L.L.C. While studying at Seattle University School of Law, Heritage practiced as a Rule 9 for Andrew L. Benjamin, PLLC, and as an extern, providing criminal public defense, for the Society of Counsel Representing Accused Persons (felony unit).

Heritage received her Bachelor of Arts degree in law and justice from Central Washington University where she graduated with honors and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society. Heritage received her Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University School of Law and graduated cum laude. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Washington State Bar Association, King County Bar Association, and American Bar Association.

Heritage has also volunteered her time with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), King County Neighborhood Legal Clinics, and Access to Justice (a community justice center that provides legal education and free advice to under-privileged communities). She received the Pro Bono Publico Service Commendation in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Rich and Heritage will partner with you to help you through the strain of your family law matter; you will work as a team. Their priority is to resolve their clients’ cases quickly and at a reasonable cost, so their clients can get on with their lives. However, when an agreement/settlement is not an option, then Rich and Heritage are not afraid to take the case to court to get a favorable resolution for their clients.
