About Douglas Horngrad

Mr. Horngrad began his career at the Marin County Public Defender’s Office in 1980 and worked there for nine years, ultimately as acting Chief Deputy Public Defender. Mr. Horngrad was recognized at the Public Defender’s office for his dedication and sincerity. In 1989, he started his own criminal defense law firm.

We have four dedicated, experienced attorneys and four staff members. Together, the attorneys have over 75 years of criminal defense experience. The firm is known for its responsiveness, discretion, and professionalism, and for its round-the-clock availability and total devotion to its clients. Mr. Horngrad also has longstanding collaborative relationships with the best investigators, mental health professionals, and crime scene experts in the Bay Area.

Mr. Horngrad has represented appointed and elected officials, business leaders, political activists, Oscar nominees and winners, and clients from all walks of life. In his words, “We do traffic tickets to murder, and everything in between.” Mr. Horngrad’s office handles felonies and misdemeanors in state and federal court, DMV hearings, trials, and appeals.
