About Don Prachthauser

Don Prachthauser has a remarkable record of success in the courtroom. He has presented nearly 100 cases to juries, judges, and arbitrators on behalf of personal injury clients. Mr. Prachthauser credits a very strong team of lawyers and support staff at Murphy & Prachthauser, s.c. for the results achieved. He is very proud of the fact that many cases have been referred to him by judges, lawyers, physicians, and past clients familiar with his work in the courtroom. Mr. Prachthauser believes that personal injury clients are best served by lawyers who are skilled at presenting cases to a jury and willing to do the necessary hard work, if a fair settlement is not offered before trial.

One of many examples of Mr. Prachthauser’s litigation success is Heikkinen vs. Catholic Mutual, et al., which resulted in a greater than $23,000,000.00 judgment for an 82-year-old client involved in an auto accident. Before trial, an offer was made to settle the case for $500,000.00 from the insurance company for the responsible driver. A Milwaukee jury, the Court of Appeals, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court rendered decisions in the case before the case concluded.

Although Mr. Prachthauser has helped the vast majority of his clients achieve a pre-trial settlement, courtroom experience does contribute to a favorable outcome. Mr. Prachthauser’s trial experience includes negligent operation of automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles as well as product liability, medical negligence, unsafe premises, and insurance coverage disputes.
