About David Shouvlin
Dave practices principally in the area of commercial litigation, focusing on intellectual property and trade secret issues. A considerable amount of his practice has involved foreign clients.
Dave has obtained favorable decisions on important intellectual property and contract issues in the First, Sixth, and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
Early in his career, Dave wrote a law review article that the United States Supreme Court quoted in New York v. Ferber, 458 U.S. 747, 1982. In addition, he has taught as an adjunct clinical professor at Wake Forest University School of Law and served as an advisor at Harvard Law School in the Trial Practice Program. Throughout his career, Dave has regularly provided instruction on evidence and civil procedure and has taught individual classes on patent litigation, commercial disputes, and trial practice at The Ohio State University’s Michael E. Moritz College of Law. He has also been a guest lecturer on commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolutions at the University of Oklahoma Law School and at Oxford University. Dave is a regular contributor to the Technology Law Source blog on topics related to copyright law. He also serves as the firm’s pro bono coordinator.
