About David Carrier
David J. Carrier is a partner in the Minneapolis office of Lewis Brisbois and member of the Products Liability, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, and Labor & Employment Practices.
David’s singular goal as a litigator is to protect the most important parts of his clients’ business—their products and customers, their employees and trade secrets, and the threat to their bottom line from high-exposure class actions.
This focus has led David to represent national and international businesses in commercial, class action, and trade secret disputes in courtrooms across the country. David has defended a wide range of products liability actions, including manufacturers of Class II and III medical devices, industrial chemicals and cleaning products, and exercise equipment. An accomplished legal writer and tactician, David has led successful motion practice efforts asserting complex jurisdictional defenses and defending large financial institutions against high-exposure consumer class actions, including ones alleging violations of FACTA, FCRA, RESPA, TILA, and the FDCPA.
In addition to this commercial litigation practice, David represents clients seeking to protect their trade secrets and enforce their non-compete agreements with former employees. David also defends clients who are being investigated by state and federal governments and counsels them on liability under the False Claims Act.
A former two-season Division III collegiate golfer, David remains a recreational player and a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association’s Golf Tournament Committee. In his leisure time, David enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter and supporting his long-time favorite soccer team, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
