About Daniel Hoovler
Daniel Hoovler focuses his practice on client counseling and patent prosecution from early stages of development to portfolio management of established technologies. Dan has a diverse background in mechanical, electrical, and computer technologies. His background has played an important role in assisting clients to protect technologies in a variety of fields, including: consumer electronics, signal processing, automotive electrical and mechanical technologies, safety systems, robotics, consumer appliances, and medical devices. Such experience enables Dan to assist in matters beyond document preparation and supports his ability to identify practical concerns of product development.
Prior to patent practice, Dan worked in automotive manufacturing managing the installation and integration of robotic vision systems. He enjoys learning from the skilled inventors he works with to understand the intricacies of their products. By participating with inventors, he is able to optimize patent coverage by honing in on the various novel aspects that may not be otherwise disclosed or appreciated.
As an active member of the community, Dan sits on the advisory board for the Academy of Modern Engineering for Grand Rapids Public Schools and provides guest lectures at Grand Valley State University. Through continuing education, he strives to maintain and expand his engineering knowledge to better serve clients.
