About Christopher Hoerter
Before cracking a book in law school, Chris had seven years of experience in a demanding legal environment. After graduating from Stanford University, he was a researcher at an engineering firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. His company defended car manufacturers in airbag, rollover, and related automobile lawsuits. Now, as a civil rights, criminal defense, and parents’ attorney, who also has a successful personal injury practice, he defends real people and knows how the other side thinks.
Chris moved back to Louisville and obtained his law degree from the University of Louisville, at the same time earning a Masters degree in English. While his journeys have taken him far and wide, Chris has never forgotten his roots. He delivered two newspaper routes to pay tuition for St. Xavier High School. Although he devoted his early professional career to defending large corporations, the call for justice got louder as he began to practice law.
He has represented hundreds of clients in more than a thousand criminal cases, including second-chairing a murder trial and a 19-count Class A Felony trial in the state of Indiana.
Chris is regional legal counsel for the Critical Response Team of the United States Concealed Carry Association.
His life experience has molded him into a fearless, innovative, and aggressive advocate for people who are taken advantage of or injured, whether it is physical injury, consumer protection, civil rights, discrimination, or vindicating clients who are accused of committing crimes. Outside the office, family is number one for Chris. He is an avid fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals.
He is admitted to practice in Kentucky, Indiana, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern District of Kentucky, as well as the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
