About Christopher Butler
Experienced General Counsel in the utility construction space. I have deep experience in: contract drafting and negotiation; real estate leasing and purchase and sale transactions; claim management and resolution; environmental and regulatory management and compliance; and alternative dispute resolution. In addition to drafting almost every type of construction contract, I have drafted and negotiated software agreements, franchise agreements, licensing agreements, NDA’s, equipment purchase and sale agreements, spot fuel contracts, employment secondments, and power purchase agreements with utility owners. I’ve advised our HR professional for over a decade investigating claims, responding to regulatory investigations, and obtaining favorable settlements of termination and discrimination claims. I interacted with our safety department to revise our safety manual, taught our field personnel and line management classes on driver liability and safety, and talked about how to handle auto incidents. I’ve investigated and resolved thousands of property and bodily injury claims in a manner advantageous to the company, and managed outside counsel when the claims get litigated.
