About Catherine Koura
Catherine focuses her practice on workers’ compensation litigation, representing employers, insurers, self-insurers, and third-party administrators before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation and state courts throughout Georgia. Catherine is currently serving Post 5 (Atlanta) for the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors and has been appointed to serve on multiple committees. Catherine also serves as a Special Master for the Supreme Court of Georgia. She was appointed by the Supreme Court to preside over cases addressing alleged attorney misconduct. Catherine has served as a guest lecturer at the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business and the Georgia State College of Law.
Catherine’s prior work experience includes starting and heading an in-house legal department for one of Georgia’s largest workers’ compensation insurance carriers. She has extensive experience with labor and employment law. While at Georgia State, Catherine conducted multi-disciplinary research between the psychology department and law school, which was published.
Catherine is a Certified Court Annexed Mediator and a Certified Private Civil Mediator. While in law school, she worked for the Fulton County Courthouse as a court annexed mediator. Catherine is fluent in Russian and served as a translator for the Russian Olympic delegation during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
