About Carolyn Crate

Carolyn’s primary areas of practice include: Residential and Commercial Real Estate (purchases, sales, mortgages, rectifying title issues), Estate Planning and Administration (including drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney), Corporate and Commercial transactions (purchase and sale of business assets and shares, shareholder agreements, incorporations, annual minutes and resolutions).

Carolyn currently sits as Vice-Chair of the Sutton BIA (2013 to present). Past volunteer positions include director of York Region Law Association (2009 to 2012, Secretary 2012-2013) and director of GTTI (2006 to 2008).

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law and completing the Ontario Bar Admission Course, Carolyn articled with the firm of Brown Beattie O’Donovan in London, Ontario.

Carolyn was an insurance broker in the property and casualty insurance industry from 1992 to 2000. During this time, Carolyn obtained her A.I.I.C. designation with High Honours. Carolyn also has a Diploma in Business Administration from Seneca College and was awarded the Governor General’s Academic Bronze Medal. Carolyn worked in the banking industry from 1987 to 1991.
