Carolyn Cooper was born and raised in Oakland, California. After graduation from Skyline High School, she moved to Seattle, Washington where she attended the University of Washington and received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare.

During the school year, a select group of first year law students participate in client intake, interviews, legal research and writing and case management with a criminal attorney and civil attorney. Working with the criminal section and Tulane community since 1973, he sometimes jokes, “he last slept in 1972!” He also maintains a private law practice and the following year she started as a law clerk in his private practice and never left.
