About Carol Barnett
Carol joined our office in August 2018 as Senior Associate General Counsel. Carol has worked extensively in private practice, most recently as a partner with the national AmLaw 100 firm, Polsinelli PC. While at Polsinelli, Carol’s practice focused on defending employment litigation in various state and federal courts, including oral arguments in the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. In addition to handling litigation, Carol worked extensively with clients on proactive human resources advisement. She has also been quoted in various SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) articles and enjoys being a frequent speaker to a wide range of audiences on various employment law topics. Upon graduation from the University of Illinois College of Law, Carol served as a Law Clerk to an Illinois State Supreme Court Justice. While in law school, Carol was on the Illinois Law Review and she also held an editor position for the Illinois Bar Journal. In addition to her law firm practice, Carol has worked as an assistant prosecutor, where she tried a wide variety of cases. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in communications and has served numerous non-profit organizations in the capacity of pro bono legal advisor.
