About Benjamin Stevens

Aggressive, creative, and compassionate are words Ben Stevens’ colleagues freely use to describe him as a divorce and family law attorney. Mr. Stevens is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and he will serve as National President in 2023-2024.  He is also a Fellow in the International Academy of Family Lawyers and is a Board Certified Family Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.  He is one of only two attorneys in South Carolina with those simultaneous distinctions. Ben has been featured in numerous publications, including Forbes, ABA Journal, and South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, and has taught continuing legal education seminars to other attorneys all across South Carolina and nationally. Mr. Stevens developed the South Carolina Bar’s Family Law Essentials CLE program, which teaches new attorneys the basics of practicing family law, as well as its Advanced Family Law Topics for the Bench and Bar, which addresses more complex topics. Ben is a lifelong resident of South Carolina and is married to noted family law attorney, Jenny R. Stevens, and they have six children between them. Having been previously divorced and a litigant in a child custody case, Mr. Stevens has a unique insight into the issues people face in Family Court. He and his family are avid supporters of Clemson University athletics. Having seen Family Court from both sides (as both a divorce attorney and a litigant), Ben has excellent insight into the problems and challenges faced by today’s families.
