About Barry Scheer

Attorney Barry Scheer has long been recognized as among Massachusetts’ preeminent business law and business litigation lawyers, representing large and small businesses both in Massachusetts and throughout the United States. Over his forty-year career, Barry has enjoyed a consistent record of success in both the trial courts and all state and federal appellate courts, including the recent landmark case of Oxford Global Resources v. Hernandez, decided by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In addition to his highly successful trial record, Barry has also served as an active mediator and arbitrator in a wide variety of business-related disputes.

As a tribute to the quality of his legal work, Barry has been consistently named a Massachusetts and New England Super Lawyer ™ by the publishers of Boston Magazine, in the area of business litigation, every year since the list was first published in 2004. Mr. Scheer has been a frequent guest lecturer at Boston College Law school and, for many years, served as a trial advisor with the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy program.

In addition to his extensive client base, Attorney Scheer also serves as regional litigation counsel for a prominent midwestern publicly traded corporation, handling and supervising litigation matters throughout the new England region.

On the business transactional side, Mr. Scheer routinely advises business entities on structure, governance issues, contract issues, employment issues, compliance issues, fiduciary obligations and a host of other issues with a view to bringing real, practical solutions to both the routine and the difficult. His resume also includes a number of mergers, acquisitions and sales.
