About Arthur Hoge

Arthur Hoge’s legal practice focuses in three general areas: litigation; estate and charitable planning; and legal, housing and non-profit tax matters regarding tax organizations. He is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and in Texas. He has a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating.

Mr. Hoge’s litigation practice has included contract, tort, employment law, products liability, personal injury, environmental, banking law, tax litigation, trustee and trust litigation, and contested estate matters, among others. He has 36 years of litigation experience.

Mr. Hoge’s practice in estate planning includes from the substantive and complex estates and large estates to the general estates. It includes charitable planning, corporate and business entity planning, business succession planning, and estate administration. He is a frequent lecturer at professional seminars on estate planning matters.

Mr. Hoge has a national clientel and a national reputation in representing and in assisting national and international fraternity and sororitiy organizations as well as local housing corporations. His representations in this area include litigation matters, both as counsel of record and as consulting counsel, housing matters for local and national housing corporations, employment law matters, foundation (public charity) formation and tax matters, and general corporate matters involving fraternity and sorority organizations, among others. He is a frequent lecturer at national programs presented by various Greek letter trade organizations.

Mr. Hoge’s unique blend of experience in estate planning matters, litigation matters, business entity matters, and tax matters provides overlapping experience that allows a broad spectrum of analysis and assistance.

Some classes, seminars, and presentations include: 1995 North-American Interfraternity Conference, Inc. annual meeting on Litigation and the Fraternity System; presenter at the 1999 annual meeting of the Fraternity Executives Association on Legal Issues and Management Tools for the Executive Director and for the Risk Management Director; presenter at the 2002 membership meeting of FIPG, Inc. on Legal Considerations for Greek Letter Organizations; presenter at the 2004 FRMT Risk Management College on Greek Law Update and Litigation and the Fraternity System; presenter at the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 annual meetings of the Fraternity Executives Association on Legal Considerations for Greek Letter Organizations; presenter at the 2005 National Panhellenic Conference Housing Forum on Lease Agreements and Ownership/Operation Considerations for House Corporations; presenter at the 2010 National Convention of Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority; presenter at the 2010 FRMT Risk Management College on Relationship Statements.

Arthur F. Hoge III has been heavily involved in property tax matters and appeals (ad valorem tax matters) throughout Oklahoma for in excess of twenty-seven years. His representation of clients in property tax matters has included many types of real property interests including manufacturing plants, gas processing facilities, malls, office buildings, warehouses, shopping centers, apartment complexes, and public service utility companies. It has included business personal property matters. He has presented property tax matters before assessors, county boards of equalization, in the Oklahoma District Courts, in the Court of Tax Review of the State of Oklahoma, and in the Oklahoma Appellate Courts.
