About Anna Hagstrom

Änna was born and raised in the Twin Cities, earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology before graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School. She grew up in a family with strong emphasis on hard work and helping others, values which shaped her desire to become an attorney and mediator. She also developed a lifelong love of being active and playing competitive sports, and has never been one to shy away from a challenge.

Änna’s math and computer science background brings an analytic approach to problem solving that is valuable in the practice of law, helping parse the issues and consider alternatives that might be outside the box. A strong advocate of collaborative practice, early settlement discussions and transformative mediation, she recognizes that the legal system is designed to reach settlements, not necessarily to achieve the wishes and meet the needs of the parties involved. By focusing on her clients’ goals she strives to make a positive difference in their lives and future.

Änna has extensive family law experience in nine metro area counties and two international cases. She has successfully mediated conflicts between parties who previously believed they were at an impasse, utilizing her strength in engaging with the parties at an individual and human level in her mediation practice. She enjoys tailoring estate plans to each unique situation, from a new family to complex solutions for reducing estate tax to the unique needs of foreign citizens residing in the United States.
