About Andrew Mehlhorn
Andrew began his career at Newman Mathis in 2007 while earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University New Orleans. He was initially hired as a clerk and advanced to a legal assistant during that time. He interned with Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs after completing his undergraduate studies as well. In 2015, Andrew started working as a law clerk with Newman Mathis while pursuing a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
While working at Newman Mathis and attending Loyola College of Law, Andrew gained litigation experience as a student practitioner with the Workplace Justice Project at the Student H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice. While there, Andrew largely represented low-wage workers in a variety of claims ranging from unpaid wages to Worker’s Compensation claims. Andrew graduated from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2018.
Andrew’s legal practice at Newman Mathis encompasses matters related to financial institutions—specifically commercial litigation, security rights law, and banking law. Andrew also focuses on bankruptcy claims and successions as well.
