About Andrew Kramer
I am a sole practitioner who has been practicing law for more than 25 years and am licensed in the states of Louisiana and New York, as well as several federal bankruptcy, district and appellate courts. I handle a wide range of civil matters, but my focus is on representing small to mid-size companies in various business matters, as well as civil litigation. After working with some of New Orleans’ preeminent civil attorneys for 15 years, I commenced my own law practice in 2009 and have represented clients throughout the United States and internationally since then.
My corporate practice has expanded significantly over the years and involves representing and acting as general counsel for both privately and publicly owned entities, including oil and gas, waste removal, oilfield services, construction, engineering, shipping, and property management companies, as well as various other small to mid-size businesses. I also represent several Canadian entities doing business in the United States and around the world. As part of my practice, I regularly advise owners and executives regarding legal rights, opportunities, and obligations on major business transactions; initiate and manage state corporate filings; draft and review contracts and internal policies; represent clients before various state and federal agencies; and negotiate with adverse parties to resolve disputes and avoid litigation.
My litigation practice, while focused on commercial and property matters, includes a wide variety of civil claims, such as securities, estate, personal injury, and domestic cases from initial filings through appeals. During my career, I have successfully handled numerous jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts.
I am a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, and American Bar Association. I also was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates.
I have been a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars hosted by the National Business Institute on such topics as: Civil Trials; The Rules of Evidence; Expert Witnesses; How to Persuade Juries and Judges; Effective Case Presentation; Find It Free and Fast on the Net; and Unleashing the Power of Microsoft Office.
I earned my J.D. in 1994 from Tulane University School of Law where I was a member of Inn of Court and the Civil Litigation Clinical Program and a Fellowship Recipient of the Tulane Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF). I earned my B.A. degree in 1991 from Tulane University School of Arts & Sciences where I was the President of Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society, Vice-President of the Tulane Intrafraternity Council, and President of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
