About Andrew Decker
I entered the practice of law as a second career. I bring an experience of public speaking to the courtroom that has brought respect from my colleagues. I work hard for my clients. They have seen the results in cases being dismissed, a “not guilty” at trial, or pleas to a lesser charge.
I am blessed to work with a great group of attorneys in my Fort Worth office.

Driving while intoxicated can happen to anyone but you still need someone who knows the law and how serious this can be. Depending on the circumstances you could be facing up to a year in jail on a first offense. Put a child in your car or add an accident where some gets hurt and you are facing a felony.
Maybe you were smart enough not to drive, but you still were drunk in public. You are facing a class C misdemeanor and up to $500.00 in fines plus court costs.
These can range from a fine only on a paraphernalia charge. A small amount can be a misdemeanor, but charges can range up to a first degree. It all depends on the (1) type of drug; (2) the amount of drug; and (3) any aggravating circumstances such as intent to deliver or being in a drug-free zone.
The license to carry and the open carry law allows Texans to exercise our Constitutional rights, but that does not mean you can now carry your sidearm anywhere and all the time. Just having your gun with you in the wrong place or at the wrong time can mean facing charges of up to 10 years in prison.
Something as minor as a pushing match can end with an assault charge. If that pushing involved an ex-boyfriend, a girlfriend, or a spouse, the charge will include family violence. If someone gets seriously hurt you can be facing 2 to 20 years in prison or more.
In a demonstration of physical violence by one individual against another, “Assault” is generally combined with Battery. In a demonstration of physical violence, Assault refers to the demonstration which makes the casualty capture impending actual mischief, while Battery refers to the genuine demonstration causing the physical harm.
You can lose your driver’s license for surcharges to DPS or allegations arising out of a DWI or DUI investigation. It is almost impossible to live in Texas if you can’t drive. While it comes with restrictions, it means you can get to work, take your kids to school, and go about your business.
Anyone can handle a simple ticket, but if you have multiple citations legal representation can help.
