About Amber Cain

Born in Metairie, Amber lived the majority of her life in the Shreveport-Bossier area. After graduating from Loyola College Prep in 2005, she headed off to Jackson, MS to attend Millsaps College where she majored in Religious Studies, minored in Psychology, and was a Lilly Fellow. As a Lilly Fellow, she completed an externship at Mississippi Families for Kids, a fellowship at the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office, and a leadership project at Matt’s House Emergency Shelter for Women and Children. Amber graduated from Millsaps magna cum laude in 2009 and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Eager to gain the tools to make a difference, in 2009, Amber began law school at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. During her law school career she completed a summer clerkship at the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General in the Criminal Appellate Division, an externship at the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office in the Domestic Violence Section, and an externship at the Baton Rouge Battered Women’s Program in the Legal Services Component. She also worked as a law clerk at Akers & Wisbar and participated as a Certified Student Attorney in the LSU Juvenile Defense Clinic.

Amber graduated from law school in May of 2012, she sat for the Louisiana State Bar Exam in July of 2012, and she was sworn in to practice in October of 2012. Her desire is to serve the Louisiana community as an advocate for families, children, and victims of abuse. She enjoys doing adoptions, estate planning, family law, protective orders, and successions.
