About Alex Morley
I began studying law at the University of Manchester gaining an LL.B. Honours Degree in Law, before attending the College of Law, Guildford where I completed my Legal Practice Course. Following this, I began legal training in London gaining experience in Civil Litigation, Housing Law, Welfare Rights Law, Conveyancing and Immigration Law.
From about 2000, I began to specialise exclusively in immigration law, and have since then worked for four specialist immigration companies in London, Manchester and Middlesbrough, including reputable firms such as Lawrence Lupin Solicitors and the Immigration Advisory Service.
In the private sector I have dealt with most areas of immigration law including Nationality Law (eg British Citizenship), European Law, Leave to Remain applications, Entry Clearance Visas particularly with marriage and fiance cases, (settlement visas), and Article 8 ECHR applications, including appeals and advocacy. In my role as an immigration counsellor, I have represented clients before the Immigration Tribunals in Manchester and North Shields. In addition to this, I have dealt with many other complex and challenging areas of immigration law including detention, applications for bail, and Judicial Review.
In addition to my professional work, I have also engaged in volunteer activity with charitable organisations committed to the service of asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable or destitute migrants including Justice First, Open Door North East, and “Streetlytes” Homeless Charity.
