About Aaron Allen

Aaron J. Allen has been actively representing injured and aggrieved people and companies as an attorney since 1986.

Aaron J. Allen graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1982 (Bachelor of Science), Louisiana State University School of Law in 1985 (Juris Doctor), and Southern Methodist University in 1986 (Masters of Business Administration- MBA). He is a member of the Lafayette Parish and State Bar Associations. Before entering law school, Mr. Allen worked in banking and was a licensed real estate broker. Mr. Allen has also served as Chairman of the Lafayette Workforce Investment Board (along with its predecessor and successor boards) for over fifteen years.

Mr. Allen is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has handled cases at all levels in Louisiana courts, including city, district and appellate courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has tried cases to judges and juries in state courts and federal district courts as well as the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. He has litigated and all types of 18-wheeler, motor vehicle, motorcycle, pedestrian and railroad crossing accident cases. He has handled cases involving multiple 18-wheeler collisions. He has also handled offshore and inland waterway vessel and platform accident cases,

Mr. Allen has handled cases resulting in severe injuries, including brain damage, burns and cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine injuries requiring surgery. He has handled wrongful death cases. He has handled cases involving industrial and workplace accidents, crane accidents, medical malpractice claims and employment discrimination. He is experienced in handling accident cases occurring on or aboard offshore platforms and vessels, including supply, utility, crew, lift boat and jack up vessels.

Mr. Allen has handled Whistleblower claims. He has tried Social Security Disability, Louisiana Workers’ Compensation and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation cases. Mr. Allen has handled complex business, oil and gas, and multi-district litigation. He has served as Co-City Attorney of the Lafayette City-Parish Government focusing on police and fire department issues and the public bid process. He has also successfully defended clients charged with various misdemeanor and felony crimes up to and including first degree murder. Mr. Allen has also handled domestic cases, such as divorce, child custody and support.

In addition to getting his law degree and license to practice law, Mr. Allen earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis on economics and finance.
