About Brook Roberts

Brook Roberts is the former Managing Partner of the firm’s San Diego office. He previously served as a Global Co-Chair of the Insurance Counseling & Recovery Practice. Mr. Roberts advises clients on complex insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, involving a wide range of environmental, property, casualty, investment, and professional liability matters. He has extensive experience in state and federal courts, securing coverage for clients under virtually every type of insurance available, including comprehensive general liability, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions coverage for professionals such as engineers and architects, environmental impairment liability, builders risk, business interruption claims, and property policies. He has represented a host of Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex business litigation matters in federal and state courts, and before domestic and international arbitration panels.

Mr. Roberts is a recommended lawyer for Insurance: Advice to Policyholders by The Legal 500 US 2012-2021. In 2016, The National Law Journal named him a Winning Litigator for his representation of Fluor Corporation in a nationally acclaimed insurance case against Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. He was recognized locally as one of the Top Attorneys in Insurance by the San Diego Daily Transcript in 2012, 2013, and 2015. Additionally, in 2012 and 2020, Law360 named Mr. Roberts an MVP in Insurance Law.

Mr. Roberts is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California. Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, he served as law clerk to Judge Barry G. Silverman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
